QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
The finer details.
Everything you might want to know about limewash, preparation and the painting experience.
What is limewash paint?
Limewash is a mineral-based coating known for its soft, matte appearance and subtle variations in tone. Its suitability depends on the substrate and finish system.
Can limewash be applied to existing painted walls?
Often, with appropriate preparation and a compatible primer or base coat. We assess the specific paint and substrate before recommending the method.
Does limewash work in bathrooms?
It can be considered for some bathroom walls, but direct splash zones, ventilation and water resistance need careful assessment. Additional sealing may change the look and vapour permeability.
Can you match an existing colour?
We can work towards a similar colour family with physical samples. Screen previews are approximate; batch, substrate, technique and lighting affect the finished result.
How long does a project take?
Timing varies by room size, repair work, drying requirements, access and the chosen finish. We explain the stages with your tailored quotation.
Do you cover areas outside London?
We consider projects in London and nearby parts of the South East. Please send the property location with your enquiry.
How should limewashed walls be cleaned?
Gentle dry dusting is often suitable; scrubbing and harsh detergents can mark mineral finishes. We provide aftercare advice for the system used.
Can I try colours before booking?
Yes. Our Paint Simulator offers a visual starting point, while physical test areas or samples should guide a final decision.
